Welcome to the AROS user!

The AROS Research Operating System is a lightweight, efficient and flexible desktop operating system, designed to help you make the most of your computer. It's an independent, portable and free project, aiming at being compatible with AmigaOS 3.1 at the API level (like Wine, unlike UAE), while improving on it in many areas. The source code is available under an open source license, which allows anyone to freely improve upon it.

2010-09-12 Time to try again

With the continued absence of life from The Aros Show i thought it was time for someone to get motivated and try and keep the web pages ticking over some aros information.

2009-04-12 Icaros 1.1

Icaros is the new vmwAros! The Icaros Desktop distribution has improved greatly since vmw and is becoming very popluar around amiga land! 1.1 icludes latest (at the time) builds of the Origyn Web Browser and also Mplayer. ;)

Not news, but the first time i have tried the latest version of VMW aros with Rob's Webkit Launcher showing this page!!

2008-09-02 AROS has stalled

Lost interest in AROS lately! And i decided to put my $40 into something else, i bought a WHDload key!

I will start using AROS very shortly as i will be setting up my main PC again very shortly, finally!!

2008-08-21 Aros does exist outside VM's

Here is an old photo i took of Aros running native on a machine with a 22 inch screen, the mode is only 1280x1024 which is a bit sucky!!

Bit of shit running on that screen, all thoses effects demos were moving at a reasonable speed!!

Every week i will put away $10 for Aros or Amiga and use it to further the development of software or hardware. When it mounts up a bit and i see something i want to contribute to, then i will forward the monies!!
